Most avocado-lovers don’t realize that an avocado is a berry fruit, and not a vegetable. It’s actually the matured ovary of an avocado flower comprised of a tough outer skin covering the flesh of the fruit which is essentially a casing round a large seed in the middle.

A single avocado has 975 milligrams of potassium, while a banana, well-known for being loaded with potassium, delivers just half that, with 487 milligrams per large fruit.
