Top 3 Favorite Healthy Homemade Energy Drinks

Here is another recipe. This one is for an extra-special Tropical Electrolyte Energy Drink to replenish electrolytes in your body: essentially a hibiscus-infused electrolyte drink filled with coconut water, Himalayan pink sea salt and honey … thanks to Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri.

More about the special ingredients in this Energy Drink:

Coconut Water is known as nature’s “sports drink.” It helps keep the body hydrated and replaces vital minerals lost during physical exertion. It has a lot more naturally occurring potassium than the common sports drink Gatorade.

Potassium is an essential electrolyte that needs to be replaced after dehydration. Coconut water is also known to help alleviate vomiting – making it a wonderful labor-aid as well as helpful during illness or food poisoning.

Hibiscus, specifically the herbal tea, is commonly known for it’s refreshing, tropical taste. A favorite summertime drink for many. It also happens to be full of antioxidants and is known for helping regulate a normal body temperature.

Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt contains vital trace minerals and electrolytes. This is crucial after physical exertion, excessive sweating or during illness.

Here are the measurements you’ll need for this recipe:

2 teaspoons organic dried hibiscus flowers

1 teaspoon organic dried orange peel

1 cup filtered water

2 tablespoons light colored raw honey

1 organic orange, freshly juiced

1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Celtic sea salt or Himalayan pink salt

3 cups cold coconut water
