Saskia’s Favorite Breakfast Recipe: CREAMY PROTEIN-RICH OATMEAL PORRIDGE

Nut butter is one of the key ingredients in this warm breakfast oatmeal recipe. This is Saskia’s favorite breakfast recipe, especially since it’s packed with protein, vitamins and minerals to start the day off with a burst of healthy energy. Extra natural sweetness comes from adding vanilla brown rice protein powder.

Here’s the list of all the ingredients for this Protein Porridge recipe:

  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 1 1/2 cups oat milk
  • 1 heaped tablespoon peanut butter (or other nut butter)
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla brown rice protein powder
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 banana

When you have all of the ingredients together, here’s how to make this healthy Protein Porridge:

  1. Start by adding the oats and oat milk to a saucepan over a medium heat.

  2. When the oat milk is hot add in all the other ingredients except the protein powder. Keep on stirring, and if it gets too hot lower the heat. (If you don’t like peanut butter, use almond or cashew!)

  3. After a further 5 minutes stir in the protein powder. Stir until it’s absorbed into the porridge without any sitting on top.

  4. After another 5 minutes your porridge should be ready! Pour into a bowl, top with the other half of the banana, some berries or even a further dollop of peanut butter (why not!?).

  5. Enjoy!
