Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies are always popular, and when you make them with oatmeal they become a lot healthier with loads of fiber. Julie took a classic oatmeal cookie recipe and made several additions and healthy substitutions to make these “fluffy” cookie treats. The resulting mix of oats, cinnamon & chocolate is close to being perfect.
You’ll need to get the following ingredients to make these special Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies:
1 cup butter flavored Crisco (instead of butter)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs (egg substitute is fine too)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 cups uncooked oats
1-2 cups chocolate chips

I’ve used regular Crisco shortening for years in my CC cookies….but I don’t use oatmeal (only in oatmeal/raisin/walnut cookies.
Forget the chocolate chips, add lots of chopped pecans and raisins.

These look so yummy. I’ve never put oatmeal in Chocolate Chip Cookies, but will try this recipe. I also used Butter Flavored Crisco for years in my CC cookies.
