Eating Ripe versus Unripe Bananas



Here is a better answer to the Ripe versus Unripe Banana dilemma:

– If you have belly fat to lose, stick with unripe bananas.


– If your goal is to gain muscle (or you just like eating the spotted sugary banana) go ahead and indulge in the extra sugar after exercise.

TIP: Combine a ripe banana with some protein to help keep insulin levels at bay to minimize fat storage from the sugar content. Throw a ripe banana in a protein shake after exercising when your muscles are craving the extra carbs and sugar. Warning: The timing is important since mistimed sugar consumption = more fat storage.
