Coping With a Sedentary Lifestyle

Another way to compensate for a sedentary lifestyle is to get into the habit of a daily run …

Running

Running is another way to get your heart rate up and even prepare for longer distance marathons. If you enjoy running, it helps to get away from your problems any time of day. Many people take their lunch time from work and go for a run. It clears the mind, changes perspective and gives an often much needed boost of energy before taking a shower and getting back to work. It can really change your day and keep your health on a better track than sitting behind a desk.

In addition to walking, biking or running every day, a general rule to follow is to take breaks to stand up at least every 45-60 minutes. This way, you are helping yourself to be less sedentary while also taking care of your spine and joints.

Even short 5 minute walks while on your breaks will get your blood flowing. The benefits of walking are plentiful, and there is no simpler form of exercise.
