Here’s an Easy Way to Wake Up to a Healthy 300-Calorie Breakfast

Starting the day with a hearty 300-calorie breakfast can be the best way to get a healthy boost of early morning energy to cope with the morning rush. Don’t go overboard, though, since a breakfast plate loaded with more than 300 calories can be counter-productive and will probably take longer to prepare!

This breakfast can be prepared in less than 10 minutes and consists of 3 separate parts designed to (1) satisfy your sweet tooth, (2) curb your cravings for carbs and (3) tame your hunger for salty, savory protein. If this seems to be too much for you in the morning, then just focus on one or two of these parts to start the day.

Each part of the meal makes a satisfying breakfast on it’s own:

1. Scrambled Tex-Mex Eggs
2. Nutty Steel Cut Oats
3. Sweet Green Smoothie

Here are the basic ingredients you’ll need to make all 3 parts of this healthy breakfast:

Fresh eggs or liquid egg whites
2 ripe tomatoes
1 yellow onion
1 bag spinach
2-3 apples
2-3 bananas
Cumin powder
Garlic powder
Oatmeal
Salsa (choose a brand with the freshest and fewest ingredients)
