Here’s a continuation of the useful (and amusing) list of Food Rules originally published by Michael Pollen. These are words of wisdom and guidance for following a healthy, well-balanced diet.

22. Eat mostly plants, especially leaves
Explanation: Numerous studies point to the benefits of a plant-based diet: improved blood pressure, decreased risk of heart disease, lowered cholesterol and better weight control.
23. Treat meat as a flavoring or special occasion food
24. Eating what stands on one leg [mushrooms and plant foods] is better than eating what stands on two legs [fowl], which is better than eating what stands on four legs [cows, pigs and other mammals].
25. Eat your colors
Pollan’s advice: “The colors of many vegetables reflect the different antioxidant phytochemicals they contain…Many of these chemicals help protect against chronic diseases, but each in a slightly different way, so the best protection comes from a diet containing as many different phytochemicals as possible.”
26. Drink the spinach water
27. Eat animals that have themselves eaten well
28. If you have space, buy a freezer
