Made with healthy whole-wheat flour and nut butter, this popular <strong>Chocolate Banana Bread</strong> recipe makes an unbelievably delicious breakfast treat that inevitably reappears for snacking throughout the day!<br />
</br><br />
Note that this recipe calls for creamy or crunchy peanut butter, but almond butter and other nut butters can be substituted.<br />
</br></p>
<blockquote><p>The bread is not only moist, but it’s packed with just the right balance of peanut butter, banana, and chocolate, so that you can taste all of the lovely nuances of each one &#8230; just screamin’ good!</p></blockquote>
<p>Here are the ingredients you&#8217;ll need to make a loaf with 10-12 slices:<br />
</br></p>
<blockquote><p>
1 cup all-purpose flour<br />
1 cup whole wheat flour (or whole wheat white)<br />
¾ teaspoon baking soda<br />
¼ teaspoon salt<br />
½ cup crunchy peanut butter (or creamy)<br />
3 medium bananas, mashed<br />
½ cup dark brown sugar, packed<br />
½ cup granulated sugar<br />
¼ cup canola oil<br />
⅓ cup low-fat buttermilk<br />
2 eggs<br />
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract<br />
½ cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips</p></blockquote>

Here are the steps to make this extra-special version of <strong>Banana Bread</strong>:<br />
</br></p>
<blockquote><p>1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a standard size loaf pan with cooking spray.<br />
</br><br />
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.<br />
</br><br />
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, mashed banana, brown sugar, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well incorporated. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, and stir just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, and smooth the top.<br />

4. Bake in the center rack of the oven for about an hour to one hour fifteen minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.<br />

5. Cool on a wire rack.</p></blockquote>

Since peanuts (and peanut butter) can be difficult to digest for some people, it makes sense to substitute a different kind of nut butter for the peanut butter in your favorite recipes, or as a spread in your sandwiches. This popular homemade <strong>Roasted Salted Almond Butter</strong> with flaxseed is a delicious alternative! (Note that you can also use cashews to replace the almonds in this recipe, if you want.)<br />

<blockquote><p>Peanuts are not a nut, but in fact, a legume, hence the reason they can be so difficult for our body to process.<br />

<p>This super-delicious Almond Butter can be stored safely in the fridge for at least 2 weeks.<br />

Here are the ingredients you&#8217;ll need to make a jar of this delicious <strong>Roasted Salted Almond Butter:</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>3 cups almonds<br />
1 tsp salt<br />
3 Tablespoons flaxseed meal</p></blockquote>
<p>Now just follow these easy preparation steps:</p>
<blockquote><p>1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees and spread almonds evenly on a baking sheet.</p>
<p>2. Roast for about 20 minutes until golden brown, stirring occasionally.</p>
<p>3. Remove and let cool for 5 minutes, then add to food processor and process, scraping down the sides as necessary.</p>
<p>4. Process for 10-12 minutes and once it’s a smooth and creamy texture, add the salt and flaxseed and process for another minute or so until well combined.</p>
<p>5. Transfer to a clean jar or container and store in the fridge to keep fresh.</p></blockquote>
