<blockquote><p>When you look closer, you’re really just paying an outrageous price for glorified, brightly colored, sugar water. An overload of processed and refined sweetener (in the case of sports drinks, high-fructose corn syrup) is never a good thing. And while artificial flavors and colors don’t technically do much to your health, a part of me just shies away from the idea of ingesting things that are “fake.”<br />

We’ve been led to believe by certain companies that we need an extra-special drink to recover from some sweat.</p></blockquote>

You may have trouble finding <em><strong>Almond Flour</strong></em> in your local supermarket to use when making flavorful cookies, cakes and other recipes &#8230; so here is a video showing how Dzung makes her own almond flour at home!<br />

Start with the the following ingredients: <strong><em>2 cups (227 grams) of slivered blanched almonds</em></strong>.<br />

<em>Here are the basic directions: </em></p>
<blockquote><p>In a small food processor, grind the almonds until they become a fine powder (I like to do it in batches to make sure it&#8217;s as fine as possible). Then process it through a sieve and return the leftover large bits to the processor and re-grind. Use for macarons or any other recipe requiring almond flour or almond meal.</p></blockquote>

If you like to add almond milk to your smoothies and overnight oats, you should consider <em><strong>homemade almond milk</strong></em> that is even healthier and won&#8217;t contain questionable additives and preservatives. It&#8217;s actually quite easy to make your own almond milk, or any other nut milk for that matter.</p>
<blockquote><p>Soaking your almonds will help with digestion. Almond have tannic acid and an enzyme inhibitor that is released when soaked. Make sure to discard the soak water and rinse the almonds before making the milk.<br />
</br><br />
Keep the almond pulp, dehydrate it and use it as almond flour.</p></blockquote>
<p>Here are the ingredients to make 32 to 40 ounces of fresh <strong>Homemade Almond Milk</strong>:</p>
<blockquote>
<ul>
<li>1 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight</li>
<li>32 to 40 ounces of water</li>
<li>1 teaspoons pure vanilla extract</li>
<li>3 to 5 dates, soaked for 20 minutes (this is optional, I don’t use sweeteners, but some people do.)</li>
